Restorative foot zoning is a powerful, yet simple and non-invasive technique that activates our normal line of health by stimluating the pressure points of the feet. There are literally hundreds of pressure points in our feet, and the feet serve as a switchboard or command center for all systems of the body. By triggering precise areas of the feet, foot zoning can activate a state of harmony down to the cellular level. This sends healing information in the form of electromagnetic impulses throughout the entire body, bringing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual balance. Modern day foot zone therapy gets its roots from reflexology, which has been around for thousands of years.
What to Expect During a Foot Zone Treatment
If this is your first foot zone treatment, you will be asked to complete a health history form, then you can discuss any questions or concerns with your therapist, who will then explain the procedure and what to expect. You will lie down, fully clothed, on a massage table, with only shoes and socks removed. Comfortable pillow wedges will be provided for your back and knees, and a pillow for your head. You will be covered with a blanket, if you desire. There will be soft music and soothing sounds playing in the background. During the foot zone treatment, your therapist will work all areas on both feet, using her hands as well as gemstone tools to stimulate specific pressure points. Your session will be concluded with magnesium lotion and essential oils, hot towels, and some energy balancing techniques.
Adult sessions are 60 minutes, while children’s sessions (ages 4-12) are 30 minutes, and infant & toddler sessions (newborn to 3 years) are 20 minutes. A combined Reiki and Foot Zone Therapy session includes 60 minutes of foot zone, followed by an additional 30 minutes of Reiki healing.
