CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle and hands-on approach that focuses on evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system. It’s comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. CST can help release tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction, and improve whole-body health performance. There is an innate ability of the human body to heal itself. CST involves facilitating or enhancing the body’s own natural capacity to heal when trauma or disease processes become overwhelming for the system on its own. By freeing the central nervous system to perform at its best, CST has been shown to naturally reduce pain and stress, strengthen your resistance to disease, and enhance your health and well-being.
During a CST session, you will relax fully clothed on our comfortable padded massage table with a sheet or blanket. Our practitioners use a light touch, typically no greater than 5 grams (about the weight of a nickel), to detect imbalances or restrictions in the craniosacral rhythm and then follow these restrictions to the source of dysfunction. Delicate manual techniques (holds) are then used to release these tensions and restore balance to the system. CST has been shown to improve the functioning of the central nervous system and other systems of the body, including the digestive, musculoskeletal, respiratory, and circulatory systems, among others. CranioSacral has also been shown to be beneficial for people seeking help with a range of health challenges and symptoms such as: Migraines, Headaches, Traumatic Brain Injuries and Concussions, Alzheimer’s, Scoliosis, Autism and Sensory Processing, Chronic Fatigue, Depression, Insomnia, and more.
