Trigger Point Therapy

What is Trigger Point Therapy?

Trigger Point Therapy uses focused needling at specific areas of muscle tension and dysfunction to help relieve neuromuscular pain. Very thin needles are inserted directly into targeted trigger points and then promptly removed, with no retention time. This makes the treatment relatively quick while allowing the practitioner to address areas of acute muscular tension, spasm, and strain.

Trigger Point Therapy may help reduce localized muscle pain, release tight or contracted muscle tissue, improve circulation to the affected area, and restore greater ease of movement. It can be particularly beneficial for acute muscle spasms, strains, knots, and areas of persistent muscular tension.

Because the needles are inserted and removed during the treatment rather than left in place, sessions can be focused and efficient while still providing targeted relief. Your practitioner will assess the affected area and select specific points based on your symptoms, muscle tension, and individual needs.
